Enhancements to the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory

The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, or "Mag Lab," develops and operates high-magnetic-field facilities for research in Physics, Biology, Bioengineering, Chemistry, Geochemistry, Biochemistry, Materials Science, and Engineering. Its $7.5 million enhancements include upgrades of its DC power supply through the replacement of transformers and rectifiers, and its magnet water-cooling system through the installation of an additional water tank for thermal energy storage.
